John Henry Atchley, 61, of Arlington, Texas, passed from this life on February 13, 2026. He was born on October 26, 1964, to EJ and Betty (Stovall) Atchley in Scott County, Arkansas.
John was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He worked in the technical industry, and his free time he was an avid traveler and a big sports fan, particularly of the Razorbacks and NASCAR. But the real love of his life was his family and spending time with them, especially his son and daughter-in-law Angela. He enjoyed any chance to gather with the ones he loved, especially for a fish fry.
John leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 24 years, Kimberly Atchley, his one son, John (JT) Atchley and wife Angela, a special son, Doug Dixon, his brother Jimmy Atchley and wife Amber of Parks, Arkansas, one sister MariLyn Himes, five grandchildren, Zack Young, McKinley Atchley, Chris Murry, Kayleigh Murry, Gracie Cranford, and two great-grandchildren Shiloh Murry and Daniel Murry, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, EJ and Betty Atchley and his youngest son, Mac (McKinley) Atchley.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the Martin Funeral & Cremation Chapel in Waldron, Arkansas. A service will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at the Martin Funeral & Cremation Chapel with Rev. George Crump officiating. Interment will follow at Hawkins Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Chris Himes, Bob Himes, Doug Dixon, Jimmy Atchley, Zack Young, EJ Atchley. Honorary pallbearers will be John’s co-workers from Golden Living and a host of friends.
