Written by His Hand - A story of Faith, Family, and God’s Perfect Provision

by Brittany Maine

When Kallee and Tyler Brewer opened their hearts to adoption, they had no idea how clearly God had been preparing the way. Though adoption hadn’t always been part of their plan, it was clear that it had always been part of His. Today, their family of four stands as a living testimony to God's faithfulness, His perfect timing, and His unwavering love.

Some stories arrive with fireworks; others, with the steady whisper of God’s voice. For Kallee and Tyler Brewer, their journey to parenthood wasn’t fast or flashy—but it was clearly, tenderly written by the hand of a faithful God.

Rooted in the hills of western Arkansas, surrounded by cattle, horses, and the open sky, Kallee and Tyler built a life anchored in hard work, prayer, and deep family values. They first met as teenagers in Waldron, familiar with each other for years before reconnecting through the Waldron Quadrille. A simple introduction from Tyler’s mother would soon unfold into a lifetime of love.

“We started talking 13 years ago and never really stopped,” Kallee shared.

After marrying, they poured their hearts into building their dream on their own land, merging their cattle herds into a growing farm. But after the birth of their first son, Beau, life took an unexpected turn. Doctors discovered a hole in Kallee’s heart, along with a rare condition called coronary vasospasms that made carrying another pregnancy too dangerous.

Even so, the longing for another child never left them.

“I had so much more love to give,” Kallee said. “I knew I wanted Beau to have a sibling, and I just knew there was another child meant for us.”

For two years, Kallee and Tyler prayed and waited, asking God for clear direction.

“I just knew when God showed us we were meant to adopt,” Kallee said. “It was so strong. There was no doubt in my mind that it was from Him.”

Their wait was short by most standards—only four and a half months after sharing their decision to adopt, they received a call that would change their lives.

That Sunday morning, Kallee was teaching her Sunday School class about Abraham and Sarah—the long-awaited promise of Isaac fulfilled in God's perfect time. While she spoke about God's faithfulness, her phone quietly filled with missed calls and messages. Without realizing it, while she was teaching about promises kept, God was keeping one for her.

Later that day, March 23rd, Kallee and Tyler rushed to the hospital to meet Sonny’s biological family. They had woken up that morning expecting it to be an ordinary Sunday—but within just a few hours, their long-prayed-for miracle arrived. God had answered their prayers so swiftly and sweetly, it hardly felt real.

When they arrived, unsure of what to expect, they introduced themselves. As soon as Kallee said her name, Sonny’s biological aunt began to cry.

“She said, ‘That’s all I needed to know. I’ve been praying for a sign—and that’s it,’” Kallee recalled.

As they talked, more details unfolded that showed just how carefully God had been weaving their families together. During Sonny’s birth mother’s pregnancy years before, she had been expected to be a boy. Two names had been chosen for her: if a boy, she would have been named Tyler; when she was born a girl, she was named Kallee.

Hearing those exact names—Tyler and Kallee—spoken back to them in such a holy, unexpected way left no doubt in their hearts.

“There was no doubt in that moment,” Kallee said. “God had been writing this story from the beginning.”

When Kallee saw Sonny for the first time, she knew.

“He was precious, for sure. And he just felt like he was ours,” she said. “It didn’t feel real—but at the same time, there was no doubt. He was our baby.”

The very next day, March 24th, they were able to take their sweet boy home.

Their son Beau hadn't had much advance notice. For months, they had explained to him that he might become a big brother one day, but when the moment came, it was a simple conversation before bringing Sonny home. Beau’s heart embraced him immediately.

“He lit up with joy,” Kallee said. “He just said, ‘That’s my baby.’ From that moment on, he was all in.”

Then, on April 10th, the Brewers celebrated a day they will never forget—the finalization of Sonny’s adoption. It was a day overflowing with joy and gratitude. One especially meaningful moment came when Beau had the chance to speak before the judge. With the pure love only a big brother could have, Beau proudly declared how much he loved Sonny, calling him “his baby brother.” It was a powerful testimony to the bond God had already woven between them.

Today, life on the farm continues much as it always has—except now, the fields are filled with even more laughter and love.

“We want to raise our sons close to the land and close to the Lord,” Kallee said. “Surrounded by family, faith, and the simple things that matter most.”

When asked what advice she would give to others considering adoption, Kallee’s answer was immediate.

“Just do it. Don’t let fear stop you. If you can, walk it with God—trust Him, and He will show up in ways more beautiful than you can imagine.”

For Kallee and Tyler, adoption wasn’t Plan B. It was God’s plan all along.

And when they look into Sonny’s eyes, they don’t just see a baby—they see a promise fulfilled, a prayer answered, and a love that had been written into their story long before they ever knew it.

As the Brewers move forward into this new season of laughter, growth, and grace, we pray that God continues to bless their family abundantly. May their home always be filled with joy, their hearts with gratitude, and their journey with the overflowing love of the One who knit them all together. We wish them a lifetime of love, happiness, and the unshakable peace that only comes from walking hand-in-hand with Him.
