Annual Easter Egg Hunts Bring Joy Across Scott County
SCOTT COUNTY – Bright skies and even brighter smiles filled local parks last weekend as Scott County celebrated its annual Easter egg hunts, with events held in both Waldron and Mansfield.
Mayor Daves’ Annual Easter Egg Hunt in Waldron and the Mansfield Chamber of Commerce and Sonic Egg Hunt drew large crowds, with more than 2,000 eggs scattered across the playground fields. Children lined up around the park in anticipation, and at the sound of sirens, they raced forward, baskets swinging, eager to grab eggs filled with candy and prizes.
After the hunt, kids rushed to prize tables to claim goodies—activity kits, colorful cups, and more. Many lucky participants found golden eggs, adding to the excitement.
“I loved the Smarties and the rings,” said Ella Tull of Waldron, proudly holding her prize.
“We had so much fun. I can’t wait for next year!” added Addi Woodall.
Arlee Poe, also from Waldron, shared, “I was so lucky—I found a golden egg & got a kite!”

The event ended on a high note with the much-anticipated bike giveaways during Mayor Daves’ hunt. This year’s winners were Natalie Ledesma, Cruz Ballesteros, Krash Rogers, Sarahi Ballesteros, and George Gillis Nelson—all from the Waldron event.
The annual tradition continues to bring families together and create lasting memories for children across the county.
